Blessed are the poor in spirit...

Updated: Sep 30, 2019

“Blessed are the poor in spirit: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.” Matthew‬ ‭5:3‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Good morning Divine Ones! We are reviewing the 1st of the Beatitudes from The Sermon on the Mount. “To be poor in spirit does not mean to be poor-spirited, but to have emptied yourself... off self-will... to be willing to set aside present habits of thought, present views, prejudices...anything that stands in the way of your finding God.” (The Sermon on the Mount). “Put off thy shoes from off thy feet...” Exodus 3:5. In order to become the poor in spirit, we must allow the Will of God which is “always perfection and all good for all. The belief that God wills both good and evil is false.” (Revealing Word). The poor in spirit are those who are open-minded and willing to change their thoughts, feelings, words, actions, and reactions. The poor in spirit are willing to “be converted and become as little children” Matthew 18:3 and enter the kingdom of heaven. They are open and receptive. They are willing to do the work that is required. The work is daily prayer and meditation. Communion and contemplation. There are willing to turn away from the old in order to embrace the new. The poor in spirit pay attention to their thoughts and feelings. If they don’t line up they change them. The poor in spirit know that in order to work on their relationship with God they must reach the innermost part of their being. This is accomplished through being still, through practicing the Presence. They are willing to develop an understanding of God. “God is Spirit. We are the offspring of this Spirit. God is mind and man is the thinker...” Divine Ones, as we still ourselves, as we commune with Spirit, as we commit to change...well then, we are saved from ourselves! Tomorrow we start with the 2nd of the Beatitudes, “Blessed are they that mourn; for they shall be comforted.” More tomorrow! ❤️💙🧡
