Meditation

Updated: Jul 15, 2018

“But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.”

Psalms 1:2 KJV

Good morning Divine Ones! Now that we have taken a journey through The Lord’s Prayer as well as the necessary conditions for prayer, we will discuss meditation. Our fourth Basic Truth Principle is Practicing the Presence or abiding in the presence of God. We do this through prayer, meditation and sitting in the Silence. I use this principle in our morning lessons a lot because it is a vital part of our spiritual growth. Our relationship with God must be developed like any other. We must spend time with God, separate and apart.

“Come ye yourselves apart...and rest a while...” Mark 6:31. Come apart from the noise, the hustle and bustle of daily life and rest your mind. Meditation is defined as “Continuous and contemplative thought, to dwell mentally on anything, a steady effort of the mind to know God; man’s spiritual approach to God. The purpose of meditation is to expand the consciousness...to bring into realization divine Truth; to be transformed in spirit, soul and body by the renewing of the mind.” (Revealing Word). “Be still and know that I am God...” Psalm 46:10. “Be still and know” is a clear instruction to let the mind rest from its own activities and listen to God within. The fundamental purpose of the Silence is to establish conscious communion with God. It is literally seeking first “the kingdom of God and (God’s) righteousness. (Meditation in the Silence).

This should become a daily practice until it becomes habit, and then a natural part of your life. The first step is to relax. Let go of mental and physical stress. This can be difficult so for now just concentrate on breathing in and breathing out. Say, I’m breathing in (inhale), I’m breathing out (exhale). When thoughts come, and they will, just gently come back to “I’m breathing in”, “I’m breathing out”.

Divine Ones practice this today and everyday for about five minutes. If you don’t practice for a full five today, keep at it until you do. It takes practice. Do this and watch-what-happens!

All right now! Say it with me! I practice the Presence of God today and everyday! I work on my relationship with God. I do this and I AM SAVED FROM MYSELF! More tomorrow! 💜💜💜

“Be still and know (recognize, understand) that I am God...” PSALM 46:10 AMP
