Hunger and Thirst

“Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.”

Matthew 5:6 KJV

Good morning Divine Ones! We are starting with the 4th Beatitude, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be fed.”. Let’s break it down! “To hunger and thirst is to have a strong, burning desire for something.” (Based on Webster’s). “Righteousness, in the Bible, means not merely right conduct, but right thinking in all subjects, in every department of life. Outside things are but the expression (expressed or pressed out) or out-picturing of our inner thoughts and beliefs; we make or mar (ruin) our lives by the way...we think.” (The Sermon on the Mount). “It makes a great difference in our daily lives what we think about God, about ourselves, about our neighbors. Our minds have been turned toward the external...nearly all our information has been gotten through our five senses, and our troubles and sorrows are the results of our wrong thinking.... We have thought wrong because we have been misinformed by these senses...” (Lessons in Truth). We are told to “Judge not according to the appearance but judge righteous judgment.” John 7:24 KJV. Appearances are based on our thinking. Righteousness is “a state of harmony established in consciousness through the right use of God given attributes (Revealing Word). An attribute is “a quality or characteristic of someone or something...” (Webster’s). “And God said, let us make man in our image after our likeness and let them have dominion...” Genesis 1:26. Dominion is “supreme authority”. (Webster’s). So if we are made in the image of God, if all that is true of God is true of us, then we have the ability to operate or live by using the attributes of God that are within us. We use these qualities or attributes by turning from the external to the internal realm through prayer and meditation. We change our thinking through prayer and meditation. We judge righteous judgement through prayer and meditation. Divine Ones are...you...ready for change? Are you hungry and thirsty? Are you ready to be filled? More tomorrow! 🧡💜❤️
