Lean on the One

“Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding.” Proverbs 3:5 KJV

Good morning Divine Ones! We are working with the 4th Beatitude, “Blessed are they which do hunger and thirst after righteousness: for they shall be filled.” Matthew 5:6. Our passage today speaks of trusting the Lord, leaning not to our own understanding. Let’s break it down! Trust is “to place confidence in; rely on...” (Webster’s). To rely on is to “have confidence based on experience” (Webster’s). This Beatitude says if we hunger and thirst (desire strongly) after righteousness we shall be filled. Righteousness is right thinking in every department of life. (The Sermon on the Mount). We experience the world through our conscious mind. The conscious mind is “the phase of mind in which one is actively aware of one’s thoughts...” (Revealing Word). Our understanding is primarily based on what comes to us through the conscious mind or “mortal mind”. This mind “gathers its information from the outside world through the five senses. It is what Paul called the mind of the flesh”. The mind of the flesh (believing what the carnal (mortal) mind says is death (sorrow, trouble, sickness) but the mind of the Spirit (the ability to still the carnal (mortal) mind and let the Spirit speak within us) is life and peace.”(Lessons in Truth). We lean on Spirit by practicing the Presence, abiding in the Presence of God. To abide means to dwell. To dwell is to “remain for a time” (Webster’s). In order to change our thinking, we must lean not on our own understanding because our understanding is based on our physical senses. We are working with spiritual laws and spiritual laws are just as exact as physical laws. “There is a Spirit in man: and the inspiration of the Almighty giveth them understanding.” Job 32:8. Divine Ones as we do hunger and thirst, allow the Almighty to fill us. Spend time today with the One we can lean on. Confidently trust in the One with all thine heart. Do this and watch... what... happens! More tomorrow! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
