“Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.” Psalms 119:105 KJV
Good morning Divine Ones! We are working with the 3rd Commandment, “Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” Exodus 20:7. Our passage today speaks of the Word being a lamp and a pathway. Let’s break it down! Words have power! We know this intellectually but, we need to understand this from a spiritual level, from spiritual perception. “...so shall my word be that goes out from my mouth; it shall not return to me empty, but it shall accomplish that which I purpose, and succeed in the thing for which I sent it.” Isaiah 55:11 NRSV. Our words do not return to us empty. We shall have what we think, feel and say. So let’s look at this from the perspective of the 3rd Commandment, “... the name of God is your conviction concerning God. Whatever your idea of God is, whatever idea you really believe in, that is what will be expressed in your life. We can’t continue “...struggling with the outer thing...leaving (our) consciousness unchanged. The Bible says that we have dominion over all things—and we have—but we can only have that dominion when we learn the laws of life and apply them. There is no dominion without it.” (The Ten Commandments: The Master Key to Life). What words are we speaking? What words are we thinking? Are they life-giving? Are they light giving? Do your words make a pathway that you want to follow? So let’s consciously change our thoughts, feelings, and words about God. Try the following scriptures and statement:
“But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is (God) that giveth thee power...” Deuteronomy 8:18 KJV
“And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” John 8:32 KJV
“I acquaint myself daily with my omnipresent, omnipotent source and allow the peace that passes all human understanding to spread throughout my being. As I allow myself to bask in the Presence, to abide in the Presence, I begin to understand the nature of God. I begin to understand my true relationship with God. God is Good. God is all power. God is ALL IN ALL. For this awareness, I am truly, truly grateful.”
Divine Ones, get the result of the kind of God that YOU REALLY WANT! As you do this “your conditions will improve. You will go from strength to strength. Your health, your surroundings, and your understanding will increase and multiply until “the daybreak and the shadows flee away” altogether — because you cannot take the name of the Lord in vain.” (The Ten Commandments: The Master Key to Life).
