“...YOU SHALL [unselfishly] LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF...” MARK 12:31 AMP
Good morning Divine Ones! Today we are continuing our discussion of the faculty or power of Love.
The scripture today states one of the two greatest commandments given by Jesus. The first found in Mark 12:29, instructs us to Love God with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength. The second instructs us to Love our neighbor like we Love ourselves. Let’s break it down. The assumption is that we Love ourselves right!? Do we Love ourselves? Yesterday’s message stated that we are to desire that good come to all. Well I would think that the all also includes us.
What DO we desire for ourselves? Have we taken the time to understand who we are and what we want? We sometimes put ourselves last. We do for others but we’re not putting ourselves on the VIP list. Sometimes we are not too kind to ourselves. Especially when we listen to that sometimes big voice in our heads. That constantly chattering voice that is not always positive. That’s the voice that I call Bubba. Bubba has a lot to say but, we CAN quiet that voice, that negative chatter and replace it with positive statements of Truth. That’s practicing self-Love. Replace the chatter with positive statements that affirm who we really are. “Made in the image and likeness of God.” Genesis 1:27., with all of the qualities of our spiritual parent.
If we must love our neighbor then our consciousness must reflect Love, our dominant thoughts must be loving, for our consciousness reflects our dominant thoughts. Love has a magnetic drawing power which draws more Love to itself. Like attracts like. How can we show ourselves Love? Actively practice self-Love. We can begin by telling ourselves that we Love us. Stand in the mirror, look yourself in the eyes and say “I Love you 😍”. If you start to hear Bubba chattering say “I Love me unconditionally.” That’s self-Love. Do something nice for yourself today. Do something that will put a smile on your face. Take the time to tell yourself that you are a marvelously made spiritual being that has all that is needed to accomplish anything that we want to accomplish right now! You are beautiful, handsome, loving, peaceful...”, add whatever accolades that you want.
Love yourself up today. Think Love. Feel Love. Be Love. Smile at someone today. Smile at yourself today! This is not a selfish act but an unselfish one. Once we turn on self-love, unconditional, self-love, for ourselves, we can then come from a space of love for our neighbor. As we do this we are SAVED FROM OURSELVES! More tomorrow! ❤️💗
