“Blessed are they that mourn: for they shall be comforted.”. Matthew 5:4 KJV
Good morning Divine Ones! We are reviewing the 2nd Beatitude “Blessed are they that mourn...”. “To mourn is to express grief or sorrow.” (Webster’s). To comfort is to give strength and hope to” (Webster’s). “Mourning or sorrow is not in itself a good thing, for the Will of God is that everyone should experience happiness and joyous success.” (The Sermon on the Mount). We sometimes experience adversity (difficulties and misfortune) and at that point, we turn to God. What if we turn first? Understand, it is not the trouble that turns us, it is our desire to be free that makes us turn. Consider this, “There is really no need for man to have trouble because if he will only seek God first, the troubles need never come.” (The Sermon on the Mount). We have a choice. We can always make the decision to seek or not to seek. We can seek God first by Practicing the Presence through prayer and meditation. We are made in the image and likeness of God. ALL that is true of God is already true of us. Forgetting this causes suffering and mourning. If we remember that “Every man must take time for quiet and meditation. In daily meditation lies the secret of power.” (Lessons in Truth), our mourning lessens. Practicing the Presence allows us to hear. The purpose of abiding in the Presence is to be comforted. “Seek Light from the Spirit of Truth within you. Go alone. Think alone. Seek light alone, and if it does not come at once, do not be discouraged and run off to someone else to get light...” (The Sermon on the Mount). Don’t wait for negative experiences to come before you seek the One within. “This lesson must be learned and thoroughly realized before man can pass on to any experience higher than the present one.” (The Sermon on the Mount). Divine Ones, set the Lord before you. Divine Ones, seek God first. Divine Ones, don’t wait. Pass on to greater and better experiences by seeking God each day. Choose you this day. Divine Ones, as we do this, we are saved from ourselves! Tomorrow we begin the 3rd Beatitude, “Blessed are the Meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” More tomorrow! 💜💗❤️
