Temperant Heart

“But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart...” Matthew 15:18 KJV

Good morning Divine Ones! We are working with the Fruit of the Spirit and planting Temperance in our divine garden today. Our passage says the words that we speak come from the heart. Let’s break it down! “As used in Scripture, the heart represents the subconscious mind.” (Revealing Word). “The subconscious mind is the memory mind; it is the home of our habits, the storehouse of past thoughts and experiences.” (Revealing Word). “Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life.” Proverbs 4:23 KJV. If the thoughts and experiences that are stored in the subconscious mind are good then the issues of life are good. If what is stored there is not good then what comes out is not good. For example, there was an incident from my past that involved a sewing machine that was not good. For years whenever I saw a sewing machine, or was asked about a sewing machine, the memories of that incident would come forth and I would speak about them in a way that did not demonstrate Temperance. No self-control at all. All of the emotions associated with the memory would burst forth and I would feel as I did when the incident occurred. I finally realized that I had not dealt with self and until I did I would continue to behave in this way, would continue to feel this way. “But those things which proceed out of the mouth come forth from the heart.” These memories did not make me feel good or in control. As a matter of fact the feelings they brought were the exact opposite of Temperance. Anger, resentment, sadness and a lack of self-control. I had to deal with the memories in my subconscious (heart) or else the issues of my life would not be good. Prayer and meditation were the keys to freeing myself from the bondage of those experiences, those memories. Over time I could see a sewing machine and talk about a sewing machine and not blow up. Divine Ones continue to plant Temperance in your divine garden. Examine the issues of your life and free yourself from the bondage of past memories and experiences. Remember to nurture the Fruits we have planted. Divine Ones as we do this...we are saved from ourselves! More tomorrow! 💙💛🧡
