“Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.” Matthew 5:5 KJV
Good morning Divine Ones! We are working with the Fruit of the Spirit and planting Meekness in our divine garden today. Our passage speaks of the meek inheriting the earth. Let’s break it down! First we will discuss who the Meek are. The Meek are “Anyone highly trained to react to all negative stimuli with Love instead of with “an eye for an eye.” (Revealing Word). “The true significance of the word meek in the Bible is a mental attitude...and it is this mental attitude which is the secret of “prosperity” or success in prayer. It is a combination of open-mindedness, Faith in God, and the realization that the Will of God for us is ALWAYS something joyous...” (The Sermon on the Mount). I know this is a lot but we will discuss these concepts over this week. I said that Meekness was my particular favorite because I struggled with it for a long time. I was of the mind that it was my way or the highway and didn’t care if you liked it or not. Well life will bring to us our match, our mirror image and it did. So I had some choices to make. I had to decide if it was in my best interest to fight or to become “The Meek” I had to learn to allow Spirit to go before me and handle the business. It was at this point that I was introduced to The Fruits in a class. Each Fruit was written on an index card and placed in a container. The container was shaken and each student reached in and pulled one. The concept was you would pull the Fruit you needed to work on the most. You would then focus on the Fruit for a week, working with self to exhibit those qualities. I pulled Meekness, not once but two weeks in a row 😳. What does that tell you? Meekness is a mental attitude that must be cultivated if we are to be successful. Divine Ones, are you a part of “The Meek” club? If not hold on, this may be a bit of a bumpy ride!
