Good morning Divine Ones! We are working with the 5th Beatitude, “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall receive mercy.” Our passage today speaks of the power of the tongue. Let’s break it down! The author of “The Sermon on the Mount” says “...you will receive the same treatment that you mete out to others. ... in freeing others from the weight of your condemnation, you make it possible to absolve (set or declare (someone) free from blame, guilt or responsibility (Webster’s) yourself from self-condemnation.” Our tongue can be a double-edged sword. “Out of the same mouth proceedeth blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not so to be.” James 3:10 KJV. “Kind actions coupled with unkind thoughts are hypocrisy, dictated by fear, or desire for self-glory, or some such motive.” (The Sermon on the Mount). We must become what we want to receive. In order to do that we must control our thoughts. We must be diligent in this. “Man’s responsibility as a Son of God is right thinking, right words, right feelings, right actions, and right reactions. Like attracts like.” (Lessons in Truth). If we condemn ourselves and others we shall eat the fruit of our actions. Righteousness is right thinking in all areas of life. Righteousness leads to salvation. “Salvation is based solely on an inner overcoming, a change in consciousness.” (Revealing Word). Mercy is a mental attitude, a mental position. What is your mental position? Are you using your tongue to bless yourself and others or to curse yourself and others? Are you speaking Life or the opposite? Are you being mindful of your responsibilities to yourself? Divine Ones, we have the tools that we need in order to bring about change. We have denials and affirmations. We have The Fruits. We can turn our tongues into an instrument of blessing and eat the fruit thereof. Divine Ones, as we do this... we are saved from ourselves! More tomorrow! 🧡🧡🧡🧡
